Oklahoma Renaissance Festival[]

The Oklahoma Renaissance Festival (or OKRF) of Muskogee, Oklahoma has been around for 17 years, offering fine arts & crafts with food and entertainment of 16th century England. It runs for 5 weekends in May


History []

It started in 1995 as a small festival and as grown leaps and bounds in the past 17 years. It is located at The Castle of Muskogee.

Concept[]

The Festival is set in 1539 in the fictionally town of Castleton. On the border of England and Scotland. Where brother and sister, King Henry and Queen Margret Scotland of rule over the village.

Entertainment[]

The Festival has different areas where different acts perform.Listed below are some of those acts.


Tribal Circus: Tribal Circus has a new stage! They will be in the new Italian district with thrilling and dangerous feats of skill coupled with delightful comedy. This act is not to be missed!


The Royal Gauntlet Birds of Prey: A dedicated group of individuals devoted to the health and preservation of animals and their habitat. Witness the interactive aerial spectacle that will astound the whole family. Led by Master Falconer Sir Robert Vinterhawk.


Living Chess Board: Witness the excitement of a life-sized chess game played with real people; as the kings, queens, knights, and pawns. By Red Griffin.


Maypole Dance: Enjoy being a part of the celebration of Spring, as you gather at Somer's Field for the traditional Maypole Dance. Witness and dance with this amazing group of award winning dancers as they frolic in the ways of old and show what Maypole dancing is all about.


Tournament Arena: The world- renowned knights of Noble Cause bring the beauty and power of the Renaissance to life on the Castle's Jousting List.
